The Effectiveness of Group Therapy in Stroke Patients: A Systematic Review

Abstract

|
Object : The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of group therapy in Stroke atients through a systemic review. This research tries to provide the information needed for succeeding research through investigating the subjects, intervention, comparison, outcome in order to look at the effects of a group therapy for the stroke patient.
Methods : The systematic review was executed using RISS, DBpia link. The key words used for the search were ¡°stroke¡±, ¡°group therapy¡±, ¡°group occupational therapy. eight studies were used for the data analysis of a group therapy to the stroke patient in terms of subject, intervention, and levels of evidence were levels ¥±, ¥².
Results : The subjects suffered to intervention consist to 3 of art group therapy, 2 of group occupational therapy, 2 of group therapy to task orientation, group education program. All the researches that applied a Activities of Daily Living,
Depression and Anxiety, Angry, function of upper extremity, quality of life, ability of cognitive and perception, balance to the stroke show a positive effect and present a statistically meaningful result.
Conclusion : This systematic review provides evidence concerning the effectiveness of Activities of Daily Living, epression and anxiety, angry, function of upper extremity, quality of life, ability of cognitive and perception, balance of group therapy in stroke patient. Future studies to expect about the effect of communication skill, sociality, psychological problems in group therapy of domestic research.
